Description
Product Description:
FIRE HOSE
The term “Fire hose” identifies a type of flexible tube used by firefighters to carry water under pressure from the source of supply to a point where it is discharged to extinguish fire.
Important Instruction:
Inspect the hose for wear or damage after each use.
Roll and store the hose out of the sun and in a protected area.
Let hoses dry, at least a little bit.
Store rolled hoses in a secure, flat area.
Make sure hoses are always in an area you can quickly access, just in case there is an emergency.
Do NOT use on electrical fires. Remember water conducts electricity, so using a fire hose reel on it could lead to electrocution
Knowledge:
During the annual inspection, the fire hose needs to be physically inspected by removing it from the rack and unrolling it. The physical inspection of the fire hose includes checking the hose, couplings, and nozzle for debris, mildew, rotting, or damage by chemicals, burns, cuts, abrasions, or pests
At present, so long as your hoses pass inspection, there is no maximum life span, but common sense tells us that their materials will degrade over time. If you see obvious signs of wear in the folded or coiled areas, or where the hose connects to the fittings, it is time to consider replacement of the hose
Hose that is in service should be service tested at least annually. Hose held in storage for longer than 1 year shall be service tested before being placed into service. Service-testing of nozzles – Testing should be done at least as frequently as the hose to which it is attached.
